Arcana Studio Has a New Look! – And How We Almost Broke Up
You may have noticed a few changes around here, and no - you’re not seeing things! We’ve somehow kept the news under wraps, as we’ve softly launched our brand new look at Arcana Studio.
We never intentionally meant to keep it a secret, but it just felt so natural to softly and slowly take off our masks, slip into something more comfortable, and gently glow up to our next level.
We won’t lie – rebranding for ourselves has been one of the most difficult, but expansive experiences we’ve had to go through as business partners.
In fact, we almost broke up as business partners and as Arcana Studio throughout all this.
And if we’re being completely honest - we wouldn’t have done it any other way.
Why? Because in the process, it cracked us wide open and asked us to explore new and uncomfortable territory that inevitably transformed us.
It all started this past summer, only 8 months young, when we already started feeling like we were outgrowing and outleveling our current look and service offerings. We noticed that we were actually speaking into the void, as our offerings had also rapidly evolved into services fit for a different echelon of an audience!
We kept trying to put bandaids and patches to make things more aligned - updating a webpage here and there, adjusting our look and feel on instagram - but soon we realized a complete overhaul of our brand was needed. From there, we embarked on the long and windy journey of self-discovery, not only as individual co-founders, but also as business partners together as Arcana Studio.
And that’s the beauty of a rebrand, it forced us to look deeper.
In that time of introspection, we realized we needed to take time out as individuals to think, self-reflect and really do the hard work of looking at our inner selves and future vision of Arcana Studio. We truly needed to understand our individual motivations, our alignment to each other and our vision for impact.
While they say that opposites attract, for us they actually collide - and at one point, we almost couldn’t pick up those pieces together again. Why? Because for us, Josie and Lorena, we are 2 completely opposite (and stubborn!) human beings - yet somehow we found each other in the creative world to create our own slice of the universe.
There was a brief moment where we both explored parting ways and doing our own independent studios - which seemed great! Not answering to anyone, creating your dream vision, and taking mid-day naps whenever we wanted to (but let’s be real, we already do this..)
In the end, we realized that our “perceived flaws'' are actually what makes us AND Arcana Studio so unique as a business. Our contrasting ideas are not conflicting, but rather complementary - like a ying to its yang. And ultimately, a key tenet of our brand - the value of empathy, perspective and transforming our differences into gold.
Of course, as you’re reading this today, you already know what happens next - we’ve come back together, stronger than ever, and more brilliant than ever, with our new look that we’re so excited to share with you today!
Throughout this process, we also had the biggest epiphany: The challenges and struggles we experienced are actually the same. exact. struggles that our clients go through when they (re)brand their business.
To say, “we’ve been there” is an understatement. We get you - truly.
We know that doing the deep, inner shadow work can be scary, especially if you’ve been putting it off for years. But let us just tell you that it’s so, SO necessary if you want to move into the next evolution of your business.
Maybe you’re comfortable cause you’ve been operating in your business just fine (or so you tell yourself ;). Perhaps you just feel like something is “off” about your brand, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.
